Adobe Illustrator Draw Tutorial - A quick guide

Let's get started

Step 1 : Get the app from the play store or apple store and then install it on your android or ios mobile phones.

Step 2: Open the app and create your adobe ID and sign in.

Step 3: To get started, click on the '+' button and create your new project. Select your desired format to create your illustration (I usually select 'original draw canvas'-3,600*3,600 px)

Step 4 : Your project gets opened. That's great!, let's start. Now to create your illustration first you need to import your image.

Adding image to your project:

Step 5 : After adding the image, you need to reduce the opacity in order to get a clear view of your illustration (don't reduce the opacity too low). Make sure that the image is visible to you.

Step 6: Now it's time to select the brush to start our illustration. Select the basic taper brush tool.

NOTE: Make sure you are on the draw layer and not in the image layer.

Step 7: You can Adjust the size and opacity of the brush given in the left side bar. Just hold and drag the color option to pick up your desired color. Before picking the color increase the opacity to maximum and then reduce it again.

Step 8: In the draw start creating your illustration with your image as reference.(Use multiple layers to get a good result).

I used different layers to draw the hair, whiskers, face and body, So that you can make it easier to draw with and it helps us to make corrections easily as we handle with different layers.

Step 9: After completing your illustration add another draw layer just above the image layer and fill the background. turn off the image layer and see your result.

And that's it, we've created our illustration, All you need is patience!

Saving your project :

It's time to save the project. To save the project click on the arrow like option on the top and select save image to gallery. you can save your project as a PNG file with or without background.
